These are BIG shapes that are very empowering! Arm balances are great poses to build strength in your arms and core. They require mental focus and concentration- which can be a very grounding practice. Many of these poses require some openness in the hips, so the preparatory poses alone can become a super satisfying practice. It can be easy to get frustrated and discouraged when learning these poses, and fear is a valid emotion that comes up.  It’s ok- these poses take practice like any others. This workshop will give you some tools to work at your own pace and make these poses accessible!

Workshop info: Sunday, May 15th 1:00 – 3:00pm

Studio: Goyoga Powell location- REGISTER HERE

Like Practicing Arm Balances?  Here are some TIPS:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]IMG_9212

Arm balances can be accessible!  They take patience, time and practice.  Start from where you are!  It’s the perfect place to be.  Notice any thoughts or emotions that come up and be good with it.  Take a deep breath.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]IMG_9218

Recognize the design of the arm balance shape in other poses, and practice those poses with the same awareness.  Draw your low belly in, lift your pelvic floor (Bandhas!!).  Hold a steady gaze.  Breathe.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]IMG_9215

Build strength slowly!  It takes time.  Enjoy the process of building strength- not just in your body- focus and concentration count too![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]IMG_9231

Cultivate a sense of playfulness!  Arm balances are hard- give yourself a break! Pushing and force often hinders all of the prep you’ve done.  Recognize that some days these poses might be accessible and some days not.  Have fun![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
